excellent hospitality but minor room issues
The hosts were welcoming and truly went above and beyond during our stay. The festive decorations created a delightful atmosphere that enhanced our experience. Our king room was spacious with a useful fridge that added convenience to our stay. I especially appreciated the city view from the room, which was a lovely touch.
The room could have benefited from some additional maintenance.

The Junior Suite had exceptional comfort, making it perfect for a relaxing stay. Immediate access to both the cozy lounge and well-kept amenities stood out.
Breakfast left much to be desired, with a sparse buffet and limited cooked options like cheap sausages. Cleanliness felt compromised. surfaces were dusty, and the toilet brush holder was not well-maintained. Post-dinner, accessing the outer door was a hassle, as it was locked with the lights out, and the rear car park gate closed too early.

Staying in the King Room at Fox Lodge was a delight. John and Sue’s hospitality stood out immediately. They provided a thoughtful heater when I felt chilly, which was a nice touch. The breakfasts left nothing to desire, showcasing generous portions and perfectly cooked options. Everything felt clean and comfortable, with the room being spotless during my two-night stay. The location was another perk, just a short 10-minute walk to the seafront. the shower pressure could have been better. It didn’t get warm enough consistently, which disrupted the relaxation a bit. Despite that minor issue, I would certainly recommend this guesthouse for its charming atmosphere and excellent service.

John went above and beyond when I accidentally deactivated my alarm, ensuring I woke up on time for my chess tournament. The heartfelt hospitality made my stay truly special.

The breakfast was a highlight with generous portions.
I was frustrated with the shower's poor pressure. It didn’t get hot enough during my stay, which was quite disappointing. I was bothered by the bathroom's concertina door that felt cramped and inconvenient.

absolutely not impressed with my stay. the brekfast options were sparse and the owners acted like we were a bother. I expected at least a complimentary gesture for my troubles, but no, just regular treatment! how this place gets such high ratings is beyond me. I almost gave a good review but just couldn’t, ugh.

Exceptional hospitality and delicious breakfasts
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed warmly by Sue and John, who treated us like family. The king room was spacious, impeccably clean, and had a very comfortable bed, ensuring we had a great night's sleep. Breakfast was a highlight, with a beautifully presented full English that was perfectly cooked, along with various cereals and fruits to choose from. One small improvement could be having a more powerful shower, but it didn't diminish our overall enjoyable stay.
